Orienteering race 1:15:57 [3] 8.48 km (8:57 / km) +85m 8:32 / km

NICS 6 and Club Champs, Tyrella Brown. Wow it was rougher than usual in there today. First couple were round the ranges so very straightforward. Don’t think I got the best line into 5 so got shredded by some brambles. Lost about 5 mins on 7 by passing below the control and then gagging around on the wrong hill. Was pretty much ok from there apart for occasionally getting stuck in the undergrowth. Oh and my map disintegrated for the last loop through Beeston so I had to guess and hope for the best. But as a QUBOC event they did a good job, it’s always a learning experience

Spin, again the guy seemed to favour heavy resistance but also threw in a couple of sprints to keep you on your toes.

WENT 2 Musgrave, seriously wet underfoot. Since the park is so small it was decided that after you had got the 9 'reds' you could revisit upto 4 of them for some bonus points. I took this on and then failed miserably to get all the colours at the end - missing out on the pink and the black! Oops. Better planning needed. I could have saved on the distance by visiting the pink a couple of times rather than the black which would have meant I dropped 4 points rather than 13...
