Orienteering 44:27 [4] 7.72 km (5:45 / km) +100m 5:24 / km

LVO Score Champs, Belvoir Forest and Estate. Great course planned by Susan, you definitely had to be on the ball from the start, if you went straight you would end up with a lot of dead running. Quickly picked up the large chunk of forest with no controls in it, the one on the Island (immediately discounted) and the urban area with 4 30 pointer, made sense to start in that direction and loop back round into the woods with controls in it later on. Set off with Billy and Lyle, getting the same first 4 before I decided to gamble by skipping a 20 and a 30 that seemed a bit out of the way and heading in to get all the other urban controls. Gamble seemed to pay off with time to head out to get the far 30 pointer and 2 20s near the end. Was happy enough to get 27/30, 520 points and the overall win (sorry for screwing your results Susan)

Looking back I think it would have been possible to get the 2 urban controls I missed and drop 131 instead which would have got me 540 but I might have been a little tight for time. Getting up the hill to the finish with 2.5 mins remaining was hard enough without adding more time pressures on!

Warm up, 15 x 30s on 30s off, warm down

Strength and Conditioning 55:00 [1]

Reformer, had a few grumbles from my foot in the warm up but nothing during the class. Wasn't allowed to jump board though, had to do leg presses instead, not nearly as fun

Cycling 35:00 [3]

Turbo session. Warm up, 8 x 90s on 60s off and warm down

Note

Got an x-ray today on Steves advice, looks like there is no stress fracture which is always a bonus, so just need to let it calm down. Tight shoes help so I might try taping it tomorrow.

Note
(rest day)

Unintentional rest day. Was supposed to do an easy 30 mins on the turbo, but got home to find the thing that connects the bike to the turbo has been put away safely, so safely no one can find it.....

Running 5:00 [1] 0.8 km (6:15 / km)
(injured) shoes: Saucony Kinvara 5

Foot has been really sore all day, tried rolling it over a spiky ball pretty much all day. I hoped it would ease up as I warmed up but it didn't seem to work

Running intervals 1:00 [5] 0.25 km (4:00 / km)

Managed the first rep of the session. First half dozen strides felt crunchy then it was just painful. So packed it in, calling the physio tomorrow morning - even if my foots only bruised I need to get my hips realigned anyway
