Causeway coast 10k. Started off hard, thought I might be the first through the gate at the top of the hill but 2 guys got past at the last second. I really struggled through the first 5k I was actually nearly 30s slower than last year on this section but this was partly due to walkers blocking the downhill steps sections and the water station, I had to elbow my way through the folks blocking the path at this point. First 5k 26.57 and second was 23.24
Second 5k was great fun, I had a cat and mouse game with one of the other guys although I nearly took him out when he cut me up on one of the downhills, thought I had dropped him in the boardwalk area but he came flying past me up the final hill.
Mixed reactions on this race, happy to beat my time from last year and to come in in 11th/216 and 2nd female. But I really wanted to go sub 50 and I reckon without the blockages I would have managed it.
