orienteering race 1:03:58 [4] *** 4.57 km (14:00 / km) +160m 11:55 / km
14c

Billed as a middle, but with more of a classic feel, another race through the steep ridge and reentrant terrain of Taylorsville. Not as steep as Saturday, but still plenty of climb. This was a fun course, with lots of route choice and challenging control placements. Several good orienteers got tripped up into big mistakes and I ended up with a gold medal in M 50.

A fun dinner afterwards with other OCINners at Cocina de Mama in Shelbyville. Highly recommend this south of the border experience.

Taylorsville Lake. Lost a couple minutes overshooting number 4 and a minute or two on a couple others, but otherwise a fairly clean run. Steep and slippery terrain - never felt good about my footing and rarely comfortable opening up to maximum speed.
