walking 45:00 [1]

Hiking at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Pompey's Pillar National Monument.

About 450 mile driving day from TRNP to the home of Tom Murphy in Bozeman Montana.

Blast from the past when a park ranger saw one of the boys' Flying Pig shirts and said, hey I did that years ago. Turned out to be Bob Hall, who used to be quite an active orienteer. Cool. And what a cool job for an orienteer!

(driving Theodore Roosevelt NP, ND to Bozeman, MT)
(overnight stop at Tom Murphy's, Bozeman MT)

walking 40:00 [1]

Franconia Scultpure Park, Franconia, MN

More driving excitement, first when we hit an absolute wall of water on I-94, dropping visibility instantly to near zero. Pretty scary with traffic blasting in at 75 mph or more, while others came to a total stop. Only lasted a couple miles, but that was more than enough.

(driving Houghton, WI to Theodore Roosevelt NP, ND)
(overnight camp at Cottonwood CG, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, ND)

beautiful night, enjoyed the northern lights and howling of a coyote pack.
