"Classic" red course at Catalina State Park. Another fun day in the desert Southwest. One four minute error when I left a control at about ninety degrees off direction, but unlike certain other prominent orienteers (no names will be give here so don't even ask), I discovered the mistake in time to keep from running off the map. Other than that I lost about a minute when I hit a cactus with knee and thigh while reading the map. Plucked it off but after about two more strides had to stop and actually drop my pants to remove a couple more offending spines. Glad the girl scouts were not nearby :-).

Camino del Sol. Probably lost 20 seconds or so when I stopped to toss a few cholla buds out of the road. Landscapers has been working in the area and I figured it was better to lose a few seconds on my run than to pick up the spines with the car tires!
