walking 1:30:00 [1] ** 4.5 km (20:00 / km)

Model area for North American Orienteering Championship (NAOC) Sprint race. McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. Walked around campus using stylized campus guide & model area orienteering map of a small portion of the campus.

orienteering warm up/down 20:00 [1] ** 1.5 km (13:20 / km)

very easy pre-race jog and walk through model area immediately prior to the Sprint race.

orienteering race 21:34 [5] *** 3.1 km (6:57 / km)

NAOC Sprint Race on McMaster Campus. A pretty clean race until the second last control when tiredness & sweat on the glasses caused me to mis-read the map & overshoot a control costing 40-50 seconds. Ouch. That let several more finishers slip in ahead of me.

trail running 26:45 [3] 2.7 mi (9:54 / mi)

Miami Univ. Natural areas. Pine and East Loops. Felt a little tired & didn't want to push the pace or hills with the NAOC sprint just 2 days away.

Note

No chance to run, etc today. Got in a little walking, showing guest around the US Air Force Museum & Dayton Art Institute, but no "training" to speak of.

bicycling - stationary 10:07 [2]

Not much free time to do anything today, but I managed to get in a few minutes on a stationary bike. I know some people count "miles" simulated by stationary bike, treadmill, etc, but I've never considered them equal to "real" miles walked or ridden, so I'm not going to start counting them now. I also got in a little slow walking, showing a Russian visitor around Newport Aquarium & Mt. Airy Arboretum, but not really anything worth reporting in detail.

trail running 1:00:31 [3] 6.3 mi (9:36 / mi)
weight:160lbs

Morning trail run at Miami Univ. Natural Areas, starting from OH 73 lot. Two circuits of Pine & East Loops, with a little extra thrown in. Trails were still wet & a little slippery.

hashing 1:06:00 [3] 6.0 mi (11:00 / mi)

ran SCH4 hash #437 in Lebanon, Ohio. The usual mix of roads, fields & woods. This was my 50th SCH4 hash run. Distance is a very rough guess.
