Trail maintenance on Berryman. Slipped on a wet rock and smashed my knee. Always welcome a new injury as it takes my mind off the last one.

With my cold and 69 degree temp, felt a little weak and woozy, but wrapped calf was ok, got run in a little.

Note

pulled calf muscle and a cold. however, upon reflection, though my various injuries might slow me down or force me to rest or shorten a run, I am truly grateful that I still seem to be able to do the workouts as they come up.

Rest, ice, compression and bike. Meeting + errand by lafayette square. really not been on the bike at all, and 'under the weather' but just kept shifting down when i got tired. Plus the road tires and lightness of the better bike makes such a big difference.

running tempo 1:40:00

'Cut down tempo' workout w/ group at Francis Park. Start at 8 min pace, knock off 10 sec per mile. Managed 5 before my calf muscle (right one this time) went 'sproiiiing'. Frustrating, because I feel stronger than I have actually been running, like I could stay with almost any tempo ( to my personal speed limits for any sustained distance which is probably going to be in the 6 min neighborhood), given a pacer and a really good warmup.

so 40 minutes of walk/jog home.
