started out indoors, then to gravel track all at a pedestrian pace, but for the lasthalf hour or so caught a surge of energy and picked up the pace doing laps in the pocket park.

I think Wednesdays workout, however benign, just did not allow for the kind of recovery thats needed these days for a strong effort on Saturday.

running 51:00 [4]
shoes: adios boost 3 v.4

supposed to be a 10k race, but I felt stiff and unrested. did my best. time is adjusted for a wrong turn I took that appears to have added 45 sec. Was 8:03 pace at 2 mile, and the expected race pace never kicked in. 8:20 pace. Not sure why this should have been so much slower than my longer workout of a few weeks ago. Sure I'm getting older, but cmon, a few WEEKS? I have had seasonal meltdowns this time of year before, though. Just keep running, see what happens.
9 AM

running 25:00 [3]

cooldown run, trying to figure out where I took the wrong turn. No recollection! Actually felt good compared to prior run.

SL Track Club half marathon. 1:51 and change, @ 8:29 overall pace, 8:13 @ 10k, 8:22@15K. Much slower than my 'goal' pace of sub 8 miles but there was a reason for that. Long stretches of continuous rolling terrain and hills. Strong wind from the NW, which I played into my run from the get go for the Covid protection silver lining.

Logistically I did everything pretty well, except once I took things out of my race belt I could not for the life of me put them back, distracting. Slowed considerably in the second half. But nice long run, great weather.
