Around the river, with Noel from East Freo. Very cold morning, but sunny.

Road cycling 1:29:35 [3] 32.89 km (2:43 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Bassendean ride, trying to breathe through nose again, but not easy when sinuses are blocked.

Rain stayed away until Maylands on the return leg, but then didn't let up until I got home.

Road cycling 2:24:29 [3] 55.71 km (2:36 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Mt Henry and then around the river. Managed to mostly breathe in through the nose, found that breathing out through the mouth was better than out through the nose when going hard or uphill. Had to concentrate the whole time, or would have just lapsed back to mouth breathing.

Note

ENT specialist put a camera through my nose and I watched the inside of my throat doing various things that he asked. He couldn't find any obvious damage, but ordered a CT scan of my neck (booked for tomorrow) to see if there is any muscular damage. Episodes are apparently laryngospams whcih can be brought on by impact trauma and breathing in cold air, amongst other things which I don't think apply to me (stress, anxiety, flu).

He thinks it will settle down - subject to the results of the scan. In the meantime, I'll try breathing mainly through the nose when running or out on the bike (I've always been a 'through the mouth' runner).

Orienteering race 41:56 [4] 3.2 km (13:06 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Oroc 280

Middle Distance State League at Little Frazzle. GPS says 3.73km. Going well until 13, then had another episode and had to stop. Very slow over the last 5 controls. Was in 2nd place at 13, only a minute behind Anthea, and on the way to collecting at least 99 OY points, possibly 100. Not saying I would have beaten Anthea, but finishing within 2.5 minutes of her time would have given me a faster adjusted time than Craig. Only mistakes to that point (13) were going the long way around the fallen trees to No.2 and being a little bit right of 7, maybe 30 seconds all up.

Specialist tomorrow.
