Orienteering race 16:28 [4] 2.0 km (8:14 / km)
ahr:142 max:162 shoes: X-Talon 190

Medium course at Swan Valley Adventure Centre sprint SOL, gps 2.41km. Only small mistakes, 5-15 secs at 5 and 13, and from 18 to finish, also an (as it turned out unnecessary) detour to the crossing point before 15 which probably cost 20, maybe 30 secs. Annoying therefore to get beaten by another M70 by 5 secs, so max. OY points I can get are 99 - assuming there are no 'smokies' in the results (Craig didn't turn up).

Orienteering race 20:06 [3] 2.5 km (8:02 / km)
ahr:136 max:155 shoes: X-Talon 190

Long Uno course at SVAC, GPS 2.97km. Didn't get much of a break between courses as they had more or less closed rego when I finished the Medium, so ran this one tired. No mistakes, though possibly should have gone left from 8-9 (at least I didn't go straight like one or two who later had to disqualify themselves).

Note
(sick)

Sore throat has got steadily worse over the weekend, and is now a full-blown cold. On top of that I got stung on the neck by an angry bee about 30 minutes before wrapping up mapping at Narrogin yesterday. Didn't see any others, and never noticed a wild nest, but this guy was very determined to get me on the head somewhere. Quite sore, last bit of mapping will probably be suss. When I got back to the car I could see the sting sticking out of my neck, but didn't trust myself to pull it out so enlisted the help of a passer by. The long drive home wasn't comfortable, but at least the sting kept me awake.
