Hippity dippity do da day =P

Orienteering 55:09 [3] ***
29c

Seeing how accurate the "new" "orienteering" "map" was....

It was more of a treasure hunt, the controls were in the "general area"

Ugh and the scale was off
so were the trails...
and the buildings....

Also they didn't have certain trails... or buildings... or roads....

Amazed I was even able to find the controls that I did!

An elementary class is coming to orienteer here tomorrow... I pray for the kids, they're gunna get so lost...

Running warm up/down 8:00 [3]

Running race 33:02 [4] 5.0 km (6:36 / km)

Or rather "5k"

The winning time was 26 minutes.... By an Olympian... So I think I did pretty well considering the conditions...

Very wet running, so I ran with my spiked inov-8s, which was a good idea at first, helped me keep my tempo over wet wooden planks, but halfway through my Achilles started hurting a lot, and soon after my hips started killing, and I mean KILLING. I seriously considered coming out of the race, but since I was at the bottom of the course at the time of this thought, I continued racing.
The final stretch was 200m flat running and my hip locked up badly, which was unusual for me because it doesn't typically lock up unless I am sitting down. Needless to say, once I finished, I promptly collapsed and did anything I could to loosen it up, followed by driving down to the lake and dipping my legs in the water to cool them.

Currently I'm icing anything and everything that is sore along with taking Aleve.

I don't know if I'm in so much pain because of the shoes, my new hip stretching, or a combination of both...

OTHER ORIENTEERS: HAVE YOU FOUND DISCOMFORT IN YOUR LEG FROM WEARING INOV-8s!?

Hip Strengthening 22:00 [4]

Did my exercises while watching Modern Family, it helped me take my mind off of the discomfort

Running 29:44 [3]

Ran around on the trails at the center, they don't have the mountain bike trails distances marked yet, so I have no idea how much I did...

Sunday May 31, 2015 #

Running 54:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:24 / km)

There was a 5k course, or rather "5k", set up at the center and I ran it twice.
