Yes! Finally! A good race this weekend! And this was after a hectic morning, getting me to the park 8 minutes before my start, and to the start a whole 90 seconds before the start, as Erin can attest to. I'm glad he gave me the advice of "keep it calm and slow the first few controls" or I would've just sprinted after I hit start and probably had a repeat of yesterday. I took it slow so I could read the map well in controls 2-5 and got some confidence and had an awesome run. I took some clues from yesterday and really paid attention to the map, and was proud of my navigation.
For breakfast I had 1 pop tart 4 hours before my start and a doughnut 2.5 hours before, combine that with being late, I'd say it was a successful day.

Didn't enjoy the thorns, but who am I to complain. Most of my mistakes started small and I turned them into big ones, so something to take note of for tomorrow. So in conclusion, it was an average race.

So before I even talk about the race, let me preface this by telling what I was doing before the race. At school, mom had to call to release me from school, so about 20 minutes before she would call, I text her to see if she had called the school yet, and 10 minutes later, no answer. So I was starting to get worried and text her again, and again, then 2 minutes before I was supposed to leave, she responded. Ok so I'm out, but I agreed to take two other people from the middle school. I was nervous that I wouldn't be allowed to sign them out, I don't know how the middle school sign out system worked. But that wasn't a problem, and now I have two dependants, so if anything happens to them, it's my fault, so I was worried about that in general. And it was the first time I took myself to a big meet. And before all this, my family's having a hard time recently on multiple fronts (don't ask please), and didn't know I was even going to get to run this weekend. So with all that out there, it sounds like a lot of unneeded worrying.
On the first leg of the race, I messed up, partly because of the scale, and partly I don't know what, then lost confidence, so I was slow, making sure I was doing the right thing, then messed up 16, after I felt like I got some confidence back.
I thought the sprint in the woods was interesting, in the few sprints I've done, they've all been on campus.

Originally supposed to be 3 sets 3x400 with 1:30 rest and 4 minutes between sets but ended up being 2 sets 3x400 and one 400 and 2x200 times were




I was all over the place the first set but settled in after that. I was definitely tired after this

After the long run we did four laps of stride outs for 100m, easy 100 fast 100 and easy 100. It was getting a little difficult towards the end
