Keeping it light, good stuff, bit of heartbeat and bit of sweat. Will keep watching but unlikely there's a session or long run in next few days. Feeling better but still loads of snot.

Up Highland View to grind out the session before lunch. No issues first two reps, but then the dogs started getting let out. Either this was a concentrated effort to get me off their road, or the dogs were going mental inside smelling me run by and the owners let them out because they thought they wanted fresh air or something. Lots of mad barking on the third rep, but just four dogs and they just scared the shit out of me, all good. I go ahead with the fourth rep, believing that we're in the clear. The first two dogs from earlier have joined another dog from across the road, but they politely sat and watched me, lovely. I turn the corner to the other two should be but they're back inside. That doesn't stop two chihuahuas to yip at me and another dog to bark a bit, but they stayed a little away from the road. I think I'm all clear, enjoying the tunes, six minutes in, and suddenly I hear a deafening bark behind me, look back and there's a huge black dog biting at my legs. I accidentally upper cut it when my leg comes back, it starts coming at my hand, but at this point I'm past its house and it can't be arsed anymore so it pretends nothing happened and strolls back home. Bloody hell what a fright. Don't think I'll head back there on Saturday. Nice loop though for intervals.
A few niggles, probably from neglected muscles being used yesterday, a little tightness on the inside of both legs near the ankle but confident it's from football. Was alright for the session and concerns that I had a stuffy nose this morning faded.

Last session in Edinburgh of the year, didn't get the spikes set in time so used the usual X-Talons. Paces generally consistent, just a few muddy sections but pretty manageable. Inner thighs tight from squats but kept it controlled, no pop.

It's come to my attention that my bum has been a frequent point of discussion, and it is unavoidable that something must be done about this. After all, how else am I to spread the word of its shapely beauty further than already achieved? Thus, it only makes sense to embrace it and change my name to reflect reality.

Mortonhall plod with Spenny D and Noah and a bit of Davros. Didn't go for the full two hour job, was feeling a bit tired. Didn't get this week right, dropped 20 mins Friday by going Craigmillar instead of the usual run and spin, and Saturday session was a bit short as well. Quality is there though, and about to head into reduced mileage when I go home.

Train was going a very manageable speed, but I dropped off the hill on the long leg because the undergrowth looked nasty on the map and fell way behind. Spent a lot of ponderous time alone before finding David, Felix, and Sophie and finished bit off. A few dodgy decisions but generally fine.

Mortonhall with Noah, first time going a bit deeper. Noah forgot some of it so we guessed, but most of it was good and enjoyable. Thin sleeves did nothing to protect me from the freezing rain. Ate breakfast, thought this was a regular move but I guess not.

12x2 [90] on the Meadows
Decided during warm-up to just copy the morning boys. A few steps behind Noah throughout, consistent paces, let down only on the 9th rep. Need to commit to going a little faster, tank wasn't empty enough.

First run out with the spikes, they gave me a reminder that o-shoes are impressively waterproof but from there acclimated to the wet feeling. Was fighting muscle fatigue in the legs much more than my heart rate, which stayed pretty low. Could have been faster but what's done is done.
