Orienteering race (Xmas Tree Creek - Short) 22:28 [3] 2.0 km (11:14 / km) +94m 9:06 / km

Having done the first I felt comfortable in the area - however, the rain had really set in and despite trying my best to wait it out - just had to get out there in it.
1-2-3 where all straightforward and 2 I had been too before.
On the way to 4 I slipped on a rock and banged my head - it was stinging a fair bit but didnt think it was bad (now presents as 2 minor scratches) but it was enjoying to throw my focus off for 4 and 5 and I bumbled around in the rain getting frustrated - eventually realigned for 4 then promptly put myself into the green short of 5 and had to adjust to get my head back in the zone rather than focus on is it bleddign and how hard did I hit that because the rain is stinging. (again not that hard!)
6 was obvious as was a carbon copy leg - even though I took a slightly different line I missed the mistakes I had made previously.
7 is the split I am interested ina s rather than go to damn I went low and then across the field.
8-9-10-11 where all good and clean rain really set in had on way to 9 though. innersoles in the new shoes were moving around a bit at this point.
12 leg to 12 - disaster. halfway across the open field going at 4:29 according to the gps I landed wrong on left ankle and promptly rolled it really fucking badly again. I hit the deck and remained there for over a minute. Wasnt sure what the plan was now because I was in a lot of pain but it was raining hard and no one was around.
cup of hardening the fuck up and limped through 12-13-14 to finish as I didn't want to not complete and the damage was already done.
Was going to go to the BO social but really didn't feel like it after the second race so just got a dry top on and went home. Ankle still throbbing a few hours later - not a happy camper... didnt feel as bad as last time so hopefully it will spring back sooner as I really wanted to do the 24hr and go hard for it (end of month) but fear that may be off the cards now - see over the next few days.
