Orienteering race (Jorgensen Park) 56:04 [4] 4.5 km (12:28 / km) +316m 9:13 / km
ahr:163 max:184 15c shoes: Brooks Glycerin 12

So first time doing anything for quite a number of weeks! - was quite slow :( oh well fitness require eh.

Leg 1 was fine went via the bush when the faster guys ran around and ended up arriving not far behind them.

Leg 2 - getting back to path was a tad tricky but once there went along nicely until and appropriate attack point - attacked into the burnt out area and hit the deck very quickly - might have been old fence or #blame the new shoes not having grip. either way went down hard and somthing sliced my right hand ring finger nicely and soon the whole finger was a nice bright red :(
Went off on wrong angle and lost time getting myself sorted. Eventually got to point hand and arm throbbing.

Leg 3 - I enjoyed this leg - was slow as I was being a princess but found it nicely.

Leg 4 - No problems probably slower than it could/should have been

Leg 5 - still concerning myself with throbbing hand and dripping blood, but kinda got back into game here, but definitely taking easy option on route. I came out exactly where I wanted too - funny thing is I stood about the point for ages confirming I was where I wanted to be!

Leg 6 - Blah uphill - distracted by another point but nothing too bad - just yuk uphill.

Leg 7 - nice and easy and straight to point - got some water to get rid of blood taste #thankgod!

Leg 8 - opted for the second track then to highpoint and thought I would see it from there. went to plan until that point - but I couldn't see point so just went until I hit fairway - got really confused ran around like a headless chook, then came back to area - eventually me and one other spot the hidden control with just the box above the ground - not soo keen on the placement of this!!!!

Leg 9 - Silly mistake ran past thick bush and saw control to my right and just went for it - completely put aside - got to t-junction or distance... er was silly and realised when i was on my way in to the wrong control. Otherwise got it easy.

Leg 10 - Was where I expected.

Leg 11 - Same - starting to feel tired and I hadnt been working hard compared to how I have felt in past :( so unfit.

Leg 12 / 13 very straight forward.

Leg 14 - completely ran past it scratched head, grazed on the lush pastures then realised my mistake.

Leg 15 - hesitated a lot but got it

Finish - tbh was over it felt great being out there - but wasn't a fluid session for me, whereas normally I am slow but feel flogged and having had a good run - today didn't happen - new shoes slipped around a lot so going to have to heel lock the laces and stacking it early and having arm/hand trobb the whole way massively took me out of the mental space.

I feel I could have comfortably trimmed 10 minutes off it if I went and ran it again. :(

Oh well - was a beautiful day at least!

Mountain Biking (Curtin) 1:44:04 [2] 6.36 km (3.7 kph) +60m
ahr:123 max:155 shoes: Giro Privateer

Pootled around the campus taking photos of the control sites with Paul.

Managed to ride down a few stairs was fun... my bike desperately needs a clean/lube/service it sounds horrible!

Carrying the control marker with the cut on my finger was a pain in the ass!
