Mountain Biking (Camel Farm) 1:40:01 [3] 18.56 km (11.1 kph) +384m
ahr:153 max:176 shoes: Giro Privateer

Quick jaunt around the KC with Jordan and Ash before going Orienteering - pretty uneventful - ws a bit cold to start but generally a nice ride - felt fitter on the track but not faster - right (good) knee giving me a tad of discomfort - maybe QLD race did do some damage to it after all?!

Came accross Kangas in middle of trail when flying down toward horny devil - full lockup on brakes and pretty much a stand still before they decided to hop off.

Ok let me start by saying the map of this areas is horrible and the physical location sucks hard - horrible terrain.

start - 1 - 2 fine

Discovered a house in the white area on way to 3- avoided it then on way too 4 discovered unmapped path and took that. 4 took a bit of hunting - some of these points are like hide and seek...

Good through to 5 and found 6 on a nice bearing even though the bush sucked off the track. Bear to 7 was dead on... however the mapping of rocks sucked and left me confused at the location. After hunting the boulder directly to the south of the control I moved on always looking back until I hit the road. I then relocated on a different angle to another set of rocks. then went south parallel to road then after hitting ridge turned and went back north parallel to road. past the control because I knew I had searched those rocks and went to others further north. Frustrated I looped back to starting boulder and hey there is is tucked in some bush... FRUSTRATING.

Over to 8 and managed to rack face my left eye on a bush which was quite painful (and still is) but when I regained composure from that found myself literally on the point... must hit myself in the face with bushes more often...

9 was fine as was 10.

I think 11 was misplaced on the next set of rocks behind where it should have been based on circle - also took quite a hazardous route to get there.. wasn't that fun and my right knee was really starting to hurt from the loadings on the hills up and down..

Over to 12 was fine. to 13 decided on stupid route and went for a 10 minute diversion found 13 after some messing around near the control but really silly route choice along the main road rather than just following the track.

14 drift south on purpose found the track and relocated off that down to control - happy days. and found my way home following Craig.

I have to say - wasnt that enjoyable, map was crappy, knee really sore - don't know if its properly injured or it was the mtb before the race, or if I just can't handle the hills on it but made me really feel like throwing in the towel. if the knee keeps up like this may have to go have it checked out :( and that thought makes me a sad panda.

So in other news now no longer the slowest - woohoo, beat 4 legitly and definitely had the next 2 or 3 in sight without major messups of 10-15 mins might have even got a few more!

But also better yet - 14 mp'ers inc Juffington... I will take that as a win and retire there.
