Running (SR - Glendalough Line) 38:58 [3] 6.22 km (6:16 / km) +48m 6:02 / km
ahr:167 max:180 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

Had a few weeks off just because it's busy at home and the calf could do with the rest after it went ping last time but have been dying slowly to do some exercise and get some fresh air and pumping blood.

Been getting not much sleep - mainly because I have been working late. So mind was feeling scattered and even though I had told myself as I was walking out - get your head light. I didn't. so was a night run in the dark - the map was still readable at street lights and house lights - but was quite grateful I had done a bit of planning earlier in the day so knew roughly what I was doing.

Start in the park was very dark and I took it slowly - tested the app out a bit - still needs some work but its improving and coming along nicely. proceeded nicely along the course - was taking it 'easy' because of calf then looked down and was almost at 6min/km which I would normally consider easy but since I haven't seen that speed average since Xmas I figured I better back off a bit. Could have taken a short cut after freeway would have involved a waist high fence jump but would have save 150-200m totally worth it had I had a torch or it was daylight - it wasn't so I stayed safe.

The private drive at the end of Milton threw me for a moment but I quickly adjusted to plan b and on my way again. Sneaky cut through the internal park and out via a driveway - would have saved at least 200m there too. cops lights almost blinded me trying to cross parkland where they had pulled someone over. Otherwise a fun night run. major roads could have been an issue but really weren't which I was happy about. would have been harder during the day though.

Shins a bit sore at the end and calves a bit tight - more stretching and strengthening required.

Running (SR - Kings Park Scatter) 58:59 [2] 8.02 km (7:21 / km) +92m 6:57 / km

Well my calf went ping and I am not happy about it - I don't think badly but it still hurt now and before someone says too much - I practically walked this thing check the pace. I need to get some glute strength back because the last year+ has been a nightmare of calfs just deciding to fail for no good reason.

So despite me not being happy about my form and fitness. the course was really nice - challenging, in fact, good mixture of surfaces and climb - it's on the long side 8km but I don't think my course was awesomely efficient. Beautiful day for a run though. Might be a while before I get to run again now though :(

App testing continues - making small progress there but it's still not running in the background well.

edit* path to the west of start connects to lovekin drive not the start too... silly google!
