ahr:162 max:183 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

Wayne organised about a 30km challenge - have been super keen for it for weeks, but the germ machine (Will) has had me having a chest infection, gastro, headache., sore through for last 4 weeks (not all same time thankfully) And woke up today and trying to convince myself I was well enough... I really wasnt.

Struggled to hold the dawdle pace on map 1 and even dropped a leg jsut to stay closer - felt liek I was going to cough up a lung as we went from map 1 to 2. opted to walk map two and go to limited controls while the others went hard. I just had nothing - and even walking felt horrible. decided to pull the pin there because got worse. After all need to be better for work tomorrow :(

Shame had been really looking forward to it. Luckily awesome Tash was there and gave me a lift home - not that I was much company for the drive as I was dying a slow death inside.

Calves actually feeling a bit tight/achey - also pretty sure I removed (probably incorrectly - as I just yanked it out) my first ever tick from my left calf this morning

Mountain Biking (Setting) 3:45:06 [2] 33.16 km (8.8 kph) +471m
ahr:127 max:179 shoes: Giro Privateer

So went out setting for Metro and rogaine -

Got all the sites done for metro now just need to get rid of a few as there are too many and decide how many is fair for each class to go to.

Rogaine did the first 16 controls and what felt like about 20% of the territory. Was aiming for around 70 controls so looks like I am on track.

When I went out wasnt hot and sky was still a bit cloudy but it cleared and my lack of suncream means forearms, behind the knees and my nose are bright pink atm :(

Lungs post sickness didnt cause too much issues - just some - otherwise a lovely day out there.

Had a psychotic bird attack me near the mosman park water tower. after latching onto my helmet I realised I swerved and got him loose but he was onto me pretty quick - so I dropped the hammer - and after 100m I turned back to see where he was and he was right there still but he was chasing rather than swooping... so I really dropped the hammer 50.7 on the mtb - I guess the calves are working again. took another 200m to shake him though.

Anyway some good controls - some pretty tough ones too starting to think I might go A3 over A4 and have a smaller scale so the circles can be very accurate (rogaine obviously).

Managed to reverse my bike into my garage whilst on my roof racks - lucky I realised as it was hitting the wall so no damage to bike or wall... roof racks moved a bit have since realigned and tightened them. Feel like I might have over tightened them though :( not sure how you judge that.

Note

Crook as today - been a rough weekend too.

#germfactory is in full swing I think.

In other news looking for a partner for the 12hr. Happy to go reasonably hard but not opposed to a casual jaunt.
