Yoga 1:15:00 [3]

Sarah took me to hot yoga with me and it was the most incredible thing ever. I sweated about 5 times more than I knew it was possible to sweat (your shins can perspire?!?) , and the fifth time we were holding chair pose for an incredibly long amount of time I wanted to lose all feeling in my legs, but afterwards I felt ahhhmmazing (or should I say ohm-mazing). I definitely want to find a yoga class to go to back in Pittsburgh!!

Running tempo 50:20 intensity: (35:20 @2) + (15:00 @4) 6.01 mi (8:23 / mi)

A nice long warm up to get to the trail, so I could have a nice flat place to do my attempt at intervals. I did 3X (5 min ~tempo, 3 min recovery jog). I averaged around 7:20 pace for the intervals which is not bad considering I can't remember the last time I did intentionally fast running. The trail was great for intervals - will definitely be doing this again. It was a little hot and windy, but such is summer. I let myself walk home up the hill because I was pooped, and I honestly don't think I would have made it running.

Running 55:35 [3] 6.5 mi (8:33 / mi)

Yes, yes, I know I need to start doing strength/core again. I just need to figure out what my plan for the summer is now that I'm no longer a student. Anyway, easy recovery run today, although the heat/sun makes everything feel a lot harder. Still acclimating, although soon I'm going to have to run in the evenings anyway because of work...

Running hills 43:15 [3] 4.16 mi (10:24 / mi)

My first attempt at doing hills, possibly since high school track (wow that was a long time ago). Did a nice warm up and then 7X1min hills, with slow jog down as recovery. It was probably the hardest workout I have ever done in a long time (and it was a little warm), but it felt good to push myself (afterwards, that is, not while I was doing it). The hill was the perfect length too, I almost got to the top every time, which gave me a good thing to aim for.
