Well I was feeling the fact that I've only run once in the last week and a half today. My legs are also pretty sore from the gym - they mostly only hurt on the downhills though.

There was a guy at the gym wearing jeans...I'm still really confused about this. He was actually doing stuff too. For me, the gym is enough of a struggle when I'm wearing appropriate clothing, but to each his own.

Deadlifts (125#)/Barbell tricep extension (30#)
Split-leg lunges (35#)/Dumbbell bench press (27.5# per side)
Barbell lunges (60#)/Assisted neutral-grip pull-ups (6)
Supermans/Medicine ball twist (10#) (15 per set for both)

Short, easy run to ease back into it after a week off of running. The good news is that both of my knees felt 100% and my legs felt good too, so no lasting damage from the backpacking. For some reason my left calf is sore - it feels like it cramped up or something but I'm not sure why. Not really an issue while running though.

Note

Backpacking the last 4 days (Saturday - Tuesday). 59 miles and 12000 feet of elevation gain...not a walk in the park to say the least, when you factor in the 30+ pound pack. The back of my right knee feels kind of messed up, so I might have to take a couple of days off of running to let it recover - hopefully it's nothing serious and it gets better soon!
