Running 54:00 [3] 5.5 mi (9:49 / mi)

Trail running with my mom out at Indianola. I had forgotten how much I love trail running until about 30 seconds into this run. It was a perfect morning, and the run was very enjoyable, except for the one part through the section called power line. The rest of the run more than made up for this short section though, and afterwards we went to the farmer's market and got coffee, which is always a good way to end a run!

Hiking 3:30:00 [2]

Went on an early Mother's Day hike today up Mount Townsend. It was a nice day for a hike, and a perfect time of year to do it. There was some snow on the trail near the top, but it was easily navigable and, as my mom said, kept the hike interesting. We didn't see many people on the trail either, so that was a plus. I'll miss being able to go on hikes like this this summer!

Went to the gym with a friend, and I'm definitely going to be sore tomorrow. My first time doing any kind of weight training in awhile. Good thing I'm gonna spend tomorrow sitting on a plane!

So 2 days of not running did not seem to help my leg - there was quite a lot of pain when I started running, but thankfully it subsided to a slight pain after a few minutes. Other than that, the run was fine. It was a weird time for me to go running (ie. morning), but I guess that's what happens when you're temporarily unemployed. Really been enjoying my week off, and it's only Monday!
