Running 48:00 [3] 5.76 mi (8:20 / mi)

I wasn't planning on running today, but a balmy 40 degree night in the middle of winter was too good to pass up, even if it was already 9:00 by the time I got home from school. It was a really nice, relaxing run today (besides the part where I decided to run up Negley, forever my nemesis hill) where I just kind of ran where I felt like it without a route really planned out beforehand. It's runs like this one that keep me running, I just have to remember that on the days that I don't feel like going out there in the first place.

Running 51:00 [3] 6.33 mi (8:03 / mi)

I have found myself incredibly unmotivated to go running the past 3 days, but literally the minute I started running today (and trust me, it took a long mental struggle to get out there) I felt really, really good. It's nice that I can still run fine after 4 days off cause sometimes those weeks just happen I guess. It started snowing about halfway into my run, but it was the nice, soft snow and it wasn't coming down too hard so it was actually really peaceful to run in.

Running 54:00 [3] 6.25 mi (8:38 / mi)

I literally did not know it was possible to be sore for this long from going to the gym once. Still feeling my hamstrings. Also, it started raining right when I left, but it actually felt kind of nice running in the rain so I'm glad I went out before I realized it was raining.

Running 40:00 [3] 4.89 mi (8:11 / mi)

Still pretty sore, felt a lot better running though. I think all of my leg muscles are back to full functionality.

Running 35:00 [3] 4.06 mi (8:37 / mi)

So I think that saying I was sore from going to the gym yesterday would be a bit of an understatement. Pretty much every time I move it hurts. To be completely honest you would think that the fact this happens every time I go to the gym would motivate me to go more often that once every 2 weeks so it would stop happening...maybe this time will be different. Anyway, deciding to attempt running while this sore proved to be quite a mistake. It pretty much felt like half of the muscles in my legs were just not working at all, and the other half hurt so much when I tried to use them that I was kind of wishing that they weren't working either. I had planned to run farther than this, but I'm proud of myself for making it as far as I did, considering how painful the whole experience was. I just ended up with a nice long walk home, which was ok since it was a nice day and I stopped for coffee on the way. I'm hoping I'll be less sore and more able to run tomorrow, but judging from past experiences I'm not too optimistic.

Running 31:00 [3] 3.71 mi (8:21 / mi)

Nice Friday evening run - too soon after eating dinner through. Really nice weather - I was wearing capris and a t-shirt and I wasn't cold at all. Not really sure what happened to winter but to be completely honest, I'm not really missing it!

Running 57:00 [3] 7.03 mi (8:06 / mi)

So I almost got ran over by this lady walking her bike and then I was awkwardly running behind this guy for most of the way through Schenley park but other than that this was a pretty uneventful run. My legs felt kind of tired, but I still ended up running farther than I thought I did.

Running 38:00 [3] 4.35 mi (8:44 / mi)

Well I went running when it was 16 degrees out since it's not supposed to get any warmer than that until Monday. I guess layering works since I wasn't actually that cold, but I was overheating as I was getting dressed before I left. My O-shoes are my official new shoes for running in the snow - they have surprisingly good traction! Also, now I know I can survive running in the sub-freezing temperature so I can't let that deter me from running for the rest of the winter.

Running 45:00 [3] 5.1 mi (8:49 / mi)

Well 3:30 is not a good time to go running - there was sooo much traffic! The time is just an estimate cause I had to stop at least 6 times at traffic lights. Got some new running tights though and I swear they are the most comfortable thing ever - I am in love! Good motivation to keep me running I guess...

Running 44:30 [3] 4.5 mi (9:53 / mi)

Trail running out at indianola with my mom on my last day in washington. Didn't really feel like going but I'm glad I decided to since that is like my favorite place for trail running. It's pretty slow out there cause it's a lot of single track, but that's my favorite kind of trail running. I wish we had trails like that back in Pittsburgh...
