Orienteering 43:16 [3] * 3.2 mi (13:31 / mi) +90m 12:26 / mi
shoes: Innovate 280

Shadowed Jenna on the yellow course at Granite. It was a really nice course but maybe a bit too easy for her, because she was able to run the whole thing smoothly without too much direction from me. We lost a little time when she got lost in a field, but it didn't hurt too much because she came in second over all!

Orienteering race 1:14:54 [4] *** 6.0 mi (12:29 / mi) +225m 11:11 / mi

Ran the Green course in Granite, MD. I had a really clean run, and I only made one minor mistake (on 7-8 I think). I missed my attackpoint to this vague reentrant but then just kept going the same direction instead of slowing down and trying to figure things out. I ended up overshooting the control, but luckily I spotted this wrecked car (man-made object) sitting on a trail in the distance and realized I had gone too far. I reoriented, turned around, and found the control soon after. I think my only other fault was losing steam near the middle and the end--but more endurance is always something to work on.

Rock Climbing 35:00 [4]

Top roped some easy climbs (mostly 5.8s and 5.7s, one 5.10a) with Jenna, then found Rushmie and Priya and bouldered for a while.

Rock Climbing 50:00 [4]

Really hard day of climbing. Rushmie, Samantha, Robby, and I warmed up by bouldering, then we top-roped seven routes (for me and Robby, mostly 5.9s, some 5.8s and 5.10a's, and for Rushmie and Samantha mostly 5.10s or above). It was fun but intense!

Strength and conditioning 15:00 [5]

Ab workout with Rushmie and Samantha after climbing. Sets of 15 situps in between v-ups, pushups, obliques exercises, and other exercises. About 30s-60s rest after each.

shoes: Brooks Ariel

Ran the Goddard perimeter road with Dad! (in the middle of a really boring day visiting NASA)

Rock Climbing 30:00 [3]

Bouldered at ET with Jenna because the top roping walls were really crowded. We started off with pretty hard routes so we got tired pretty quickly though... we should have done some warming up first.

Orienteering 2:04:16 [3] 6.8 km (18:16 / km) +115m 16:51 / km
shoes: Innovate 280

Orienteering at Patuxent with QOC! I made a 20 minute mistake, but otherwise had a pretty clean run. The mistake was due to laziness. It was on a long leg where I should have been careful to keep track of where I was the entire time, but I instead just kind of went straight ahead blindly, and assumed that when I got near the control circle I'd somehow figure it out. I should have just taken the time and thought it through the entire way.
