Formby Dunes - Black course.

Bit scrappy in the circle on a number of occasions, in part not being in tune with the mapping style, but there seemed to be some 'odd' control sites too. Forest in the northern part was lovely (Roseisle-esque) and it was reassuring that I could read the contours and spike controls while running near to full out in these bits. Which, it turns out, isn't very fast... definitely lacking in terrain strength, with the sandy paths pretty energy sapping. Maybe next time I should slow down in these bits and try to spot a red squirrel.

This was a bit of a race against the remaining daylight due to the joys of the M6. Tried to push it a bit harder to make the most of the light, but legs (unsurprisingly) didn't have a great deal of fight left in them in the second half of this, especially on any sort of uphill slope...
