Running 2:30:00 [1] 22.7 km (6:36 / km) +450m 6:01 / km
ahr:133 max:182 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 265

Long run from Hartington in the White Peak. A fair amount of waiting around, so only logging part of the time - actually out for 3h40.

Pretty wet from above at the beginning - cleared up to the odd shower, but the effect of it having rained fairly consistently over the last day was obvious - squelchy underfoot almost everywhere, and all watercourses in spate. Knee-high deep water crossing one road-bridge was carrying some momentum and was glad of the rails on the side to get across!

Feeling ok up the hills, but a relatively flat one for this part of the world. Would be a cracker of a run on a good day! Enjoyed being out, despite the rain.

Running 51:00 [3] 10.3 km (4:57 / km)
ahr:170 max:188 shoes: La Sportiva C-Lite

Felt like I needed to get out and do something. Usual river/canal loop from home - strong headwind along the river, also affecting the many who were chasing small white objects around with sticks. Just one short shower about halfway around, but ground had dried before I was home.

HR probably a bit high for a run like this but didn't feel I was pushing it. At least not low like Monday, and no reaction from shin either.

Home from Derby, legs not feeling very sprightly, wasn't up for fighting the headwind.

Note
(rest day)

Shin a little sore after yesterday. Work cycle and walk over to Marstons in the evening, no other real aches/pains apparent but general body weariness noticeable.

Kentmere Horseshoe with Jon, Ludo and Pete (until we lost him in the clag)

Feeling pretty rough on first climb, bit like Saturday. Some bog trotting and then body woke up a bit on the next climb - not up for running it though. Downhills were fine but HR noticeably lower than normal given relative effort level showed body was tired.

Cag and gloves went on as traversed round to High Street, didn't feel very warm on descent to Mardale, and then foot slipped and whacked shin on a rock on the ascent of Harter. Bit of blood but didn't look too bad.

Bit of out-of-control descending from Kentmere, then slipped/twisted ankle coming off Shipman Knotts - bit wary after that but didn't feel so bad after a while. Need to be a bit more careful with it over coming weeks.
