Jog over to area from flat, then along to start at #40. 4 attempts at #31 as was misinterpreting the steepness of slopes/expanses of low contour features and hence undershooting horrendously on the 1:15000, and so drifted a long way right getting things to vaguely match up. Then getting better before another couple of undershoots near the end.
Good to do this before the day. If in doubt, you're too short. And check direction!

Grymnattan (part of) - H21. Full length distance 10.6k.
Took Nick's entry with the intention of being out around 90 minutes off a late start. Spiked number 2 off the start, fumbled around a lot but never found #1 around 150m away. GPS doesn't give many clues except to show I was vaguely close. Tbh, should have been a bit more definite with the relocation.
Decided after a while to bin that one and get into the fun stuff, hit 2 again fine, then over to the butterflies in the trickier bits. Bit hesitant but ok, not navigating well though, so lost confidence when on line to #8 (10m too far south) and lost 4' there. Fair amount lost at 10 as lost contact and fluked the correction, lucky to be <5m from 11 and see the reflector well hidden beind the 'hill'. Line on 11-12 was well off...
Again close to #14 (15m too north on first pass), but took another 5 mins to find the thing. At that point decided the final loop didn't look greatly inspiring, and the time was ticking on, so went via 20 to the finish.
Far better than my previous Swedish night-O attempt pre-Lunsen, but not taking it greatly seriously mindset-wise and so still very much in the 'aim-and-hope' category most of the time. Confirmed again I need to sort out my technique which is actually pretty crap - pretty amazing that I found anything in this run as so many of the fundamentals just aren't happening.
