It may have been a silly o'clock start, especially for a Sunday, but it was a cracking October day to be out in the Peak District. And given that I hadn't been to this bit since 1996, thought it'd be a good trip out.
From the Mam Tor car park to the summit, along the ridge to Lose Hill, chatting to the various marshals out on the route for the RB Steeplechase (bet they were glad of the weather!). Down to Townhead Bridge and up along the Roman Road, stopping to cheer the racers through halfway on Stage 1 (including a clubmate) - a fair few were looking pretty knackered already! Then through Jaggers Clough and along the valley past the YHA to Edale, before the last slog back up to the col by Mam Tor.
Good group - seven of us, including a septuagenerian, so a fair number of stops to regroup. Out for just under 3 hours, but probably only moving for about 2.
Hoping it stays like this for next Saturday...

So this may not have been the best of ideas, but it would have been rude not to given the weather. Aiming just to spin out, legs feeling a little tired but was moving ok and it didn't feel a real effort. Nice to have a bit of a tailwind on the last stretch home. And for once the lights were all green - typical when you're not going for it...
