9 AM

Cycling 48:30 [3] 17.4 km (21.5 kph)
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

To Burnham Beeches. Headwind slowed things down a bit.
11 AM

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Walsh Ultra - 2010

Shadowing two exercises on Burnham. Felt really unfit in places.
2 PM

Orienteering 24:15 [5] *** 3.6 km (6:44 / km)
ahr:194 max:204 shoes: Walsh Ultra - 2010

Afternoon race around a short green course in Burnham. Pretty clean run, spiked the control I almost always mess up which was good. Not sure I could have run much faster, the HR figure says it all...
3 PM

Cycling 47:00 [3] 17.3 km (22.1 kph)
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Cycle home. Faster, even though more climb, as wind was helping. Legs didn't feel anywhere near as bad as I thought they might.

Running 31:00 [3] 5.4 km (5:44 / km) +85m 5:19 / km
shoes: Walsh Ultra - 2010

Thought I should see how unlikely it is that I'll keep up with the juniors on Saturday by going for a short run from home. Over to Chenies, across the Chess then back up the hill through the woods, which were looking really open after the recent snow.

Hope to get out there a bit more regularly now, with the aim of getting around the elite course at the Southern Champs in a reasonable time. But first to come are two fantastic beech forests at Burnham and Ashridge over the next weekends.

Shotover - still plenty more work to do, but map starting to make a bit more sense now...
