Orienteering 58:00 [3] **** 5.8 km (10:00 / km)
ahr:168 max:186 spiked:6/16c shoes: 2009 Falcons

Inshriach tour classic - another run where wasn't really focussed with songs going round my head and constantly looking at the watch -- and so it turned into comedy of errors. Really bad entrance to the checkerboard meant plenty of time lost (6', ~1km extra distance) - didn't deserve to hit it cleanly with that sort of approach. Long leg down into the fun morraine section in the south, wasn't difficult, the morraine was good fun but not reading the contour detail enough and so made many small parallel misses. Then decided that I just needed to run rather than navigate when Stuart was control collecting behind me on the final few legs - unsurprisingly missed them all. Only 4 minutes ahead of the fastest of the juniors...

GPS - 7.95km

Note

Just sat out in the forest near the final controls to act as radio commentary for the fun relay rather than running. Sounded like some imaginative mistakes were made.

Orienteering 18:50 [3] 2.0 km (9:25 / km)
shoes: Walsh Ultra - 2010

Sprint Qualifier - Avielochan - poor run, not thinking.

Orienteering 13:53 [3] 2.0 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Walsh Ultra - 2010

Sprint Final - Lagganlia. Much better flow and map-reading, far easier to see things on a 1:3000 map.

Note

Fun in Culbin. Trying to work out what was mapped as what was tricky when control hanging... Light green section much easier to interpret/navigate when you haven't already been running for 2 hours.
