Walked round a green course in Blackwood, avoiding the worst of the weather - sun was out by the end. Final control was quite dodgy, fallen over in a tiny pit that seemed to be on the wrong side of the big re-entrant.
Forest is so so open, wanted to run but was sensible and didn't. But nice to get out and have a wander around.
Sheffield City Chase - Prologue. Would have been more fun running, it's amazing how easy things are when you're going slowly. Not sure why I bothered wandering around the industrial estate - was pretty dull round there - brain obviously not switched on...
GPS says ~4.2km

"Chase" - again would have been more fun running. Orienteering isn't very challenging at this pace, seeing the 'traps' and working out where the controls are hidden ahead of time. Only had problems around the multistorey car park where I struggled to see things on/interpret the map. Reckon I managed to take a route the map suggests isn't possible... Quit at #26 - almost next to assembly, pretty soaked by this point and not having a great deal of fun, and the last few controls just looked like a burn-up (course would have been better without them).
Bit too relaxed/apathetic/half-asleep for this one - didn't see/attempt to find a clear box at the start and no check in the start lane meant didn't realise I hadn't. Good job it didn't matter - only worked it out once my SI card stopped registering at around #20.
