Cycling 46:00 [2] 18.6 km (24.3 kph)
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Easy into town

Mapping 2:30:00 [0]

Updating Oxford map. Would have done more but started to feel tired and couldn't concentrate properly, so went for a bit of a wander/sit down instead.

Cycling 48:45 [3] 21.0 km (25.8 kph)
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Home, via Morrell Avenue to see the difference between the hybrid and road bike. Need to get the gearing right next time but it still felt so much faster... sub 2' is possible. Glad nothing unexpected happened as probably would've ended badly - was pretty dozy when reached home.

Running 1:19:45 [3] 14.3 km (5:35 / km) +100m 5:23 / km
shoes: Walsh Ultra

Run into lab, route on link above. Calves feeling pretty tight by end, ground really dry, even in Brasenose Woods.

Cycling 44:30 [3] 17.8 km (24.0 kph) +80m
ahr:148 max:180 shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

To lab, felt a bit easier today - less headwind. Legs a bit tired though.

Cycling 39:30 [3] 18.2 km (27.6 kph) +35m
ahr:145 max:185 shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Back home with Stu and Adam, who joined me as part of their longer ride. Seems wise to avoid Oxford around 5pm as traffic seems bad - this might be easier said than done in the coming weeks. But once past the Leys the worst of it had disappeared and was a nice run back home at a slightly faster pace than usual...

Cycling 46:00 [3] 18.2 km (23.7 kph) +80m
ahr:152 max:183 shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

To lab, into a headwind the majority of the way - in places it was 20+mph and made it feel like you were stationary, at other times the bike was getting blown sideways... Definitely need some more practice clipping back in after stopping at lights/junctions.

Cycling 39:00 [2] 17.8 km (27.4 kph) +35m
ahr:132 max:180 shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Home, breeze favourable in places, the only real hill felt much easier with cleats.

Cycling 18:00 [1] 7.5 km (25.0 kph)
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Quick spin on the bike to see how this clipping in/out business works with the new shoes. Might take a bit of getting used to, and I reckon a couple of comedy falls are inevitable. Seems to be easiest to unclip with foot at the bottom of the pedal stroke - something to remember. Will be interesting to see how much difference they make on hills, which aren't too numerous in the immediate vicinity.

Circuits 40:00 [3]

Really decent turn out this evening for Ali's finale, though 8.5 hours of Lake District running was clearly too much for Jon... Legs feeling tired after the w/e, but surprised that could keep going through the cardio-based exercises
