Compass Sport Cup qualifier at Pamber Forest. Absolutely appalling run, left brain in bed - no contact with the map and no real fight in the legs, surprised to be so little down. Being poked in the eye twice by various plant life didn't help the matter either, then just picking up all of the negative things about the course meant mind wasn't focussed at all. Can't really say I enjoyed it much...

Thames Valley qualified for the final though, as South London were 3rd in the competition last year.

Unexpected cycle to Jon's after a people > seats situation. Fight with the wind back from Jon's; gravity just beat air resistance on the way down the hill...

Slow run round the Light Green at Bloom Wood, without a compass to make me read the map more. Tried to keep a consistent pace, even on the hills, felt pretty sluggish at times... Couple of 15 second wobbles, really hesitant to #9 as little to navigate off, then poor exit from #13 along rather than across contours which meant had to check carefully which path I'd hit. Vegetation mapping in need of some significant updates in places... especially where it's the only thing to navigate off.

To and back from South Parks for hills, legs feeling tight on the way out having not run for a while, calves feeling tight on the way back - good stretch needed.

Hills session with Kai - just a short one which was glad of as muscles not liking me by the end of it:

2 sets of 4 x 1', jog back recovery (~1'30"), 3' between sets. Around 240m for each effort, felt quite smooth on the first set and a bit ragged on the second...

Body felt tired after last week, even with the amount of rest I got. Hopefully the last one indoors for a while, clocks go forward next weekend...
