Orienteering 1:41:49 [4] ** 15.0 km (6:47 / km) +200m 6:22 / km
ahr:177 max:198 spiked:10/15c shoes: 2008 Falcons

Black course at Redshoot, New Forest. Really wet underfoot made things tough-going in places, was at one point considering doing the extra 10k to make it up to the Long-O but wisely think it was a good decision not to. Running fairly well, although feeling tired towards the end as started to trip over things.

Navigation wasn't too bad bar the really short and strangely mapped #1 utterly confusing me (lost 2' on a 1' leg), missing a path on the edge of the map to #5 meant an extra 200m or so distance(1'), dropped a bit too early for #11 (30") faffing to #13 and getting caught in some grot (90"), and a really silly banana to #15 (1') (need to check compass!) adding a bit of distance.

Overall a nice long run :) GPS distance - 17.1km

Warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Some attempt at jogging a bit after the run, quite a bit of stretching chucked in as legs feeling a little stiff...

Warm up/down 15:00 [2]
ahr:148 shoes: Asics 1120

From lab to South Parks at a reasonable pace, then a really slow jog/walk back home after the session - a little exhausted to say the least... Calves a little stiff.

Running 36:00 [4] 5.4 km (6:40 / km)
ahr:165 max:198 shoes: Asics 1120

Hill reps session in South Parks - 3 sets of 30", 45", 60", 45", 30" pyramid with jog-back down recoveries. Really felt I hadn't done a session like this for a while, was hard work, but felt was pretty consistent distance-wise.

Average distances according to the GPS:

30" ~ 140m, 45" ~ 190m, 60" ~ 250m

Fairly consistent at ~4 - 4'10" /km on the first 4 reps of each set, a bit faster (3'30"-3'45" /km) on the final 30" of each set.

Note
(rest day)

The battle of training vs going to the pub wasn't really a battle. I think I adequately compensated for schnitzer's lack of cider by having the odd pint or 4. It'll do me good - somehow... ;)

Circuits 42:30 [3]

Circuits, felt a bit too much like hard work... have lost quite a bit of fitness recently.
