Note
(sick)

Been on and off for a couple of weeks now, getting to the annoying stage. Having a weekend off :)

Badminton 45:00 [3]

Badminton match vs Oriel. Lost. Feeling quite slow, reactions weren't very sharp and occasional feelings of light-headedness. So not playing at best, still getting some difficult shots back but also missing piss-easy ones.

Now feeling really quite spaced out - not fun. Not cycling home this weekend, that would be stupid given the circumstances...

Warm up/down 10:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 1120

Jog round track to start, some stretching before run. Then a little jog and a little more stretching afterwards. Muscles not feeling too bad...

Running race 22:52 [5] 5.8 km (3:57 / km)
shoes: Asics 1120

Teddy Hall Relays - Leg 3 for the OUOC Men's team. We were never going to hit the dizzy heights of last year, especially without Mr Mercer on the final leg. Felt like I might have gone off too fast but in actual fact was pretty good pacing wise - splits I took were:

Leaving ChCh meadow (1.85km) - 7:21
Univ Boathouse (~ halfway, 2.85km) - 11:18
Donnington Bridge/Meadow Lane (4k) - 15:57
Meadow Lane/Jackdaw Lane (4.85k) - 19:24

Still had enough left for a bit of a sprint finish at the end, so perhaps could have pushed it a bit more on the main part of the run itself...

Comparison time - 3 years ago ran 27:52 for a slightly longer course (Folly Bridge had roadworks so couldn't go across there) at just under 4'30" per km. Now fairly comfortably under 4' per km. Maybe that sub 40 minute 10k goal is now achievable?

Note
(rest day)

Left hamstring still a bit tight after Sunday, rested so can run tomorrow in the Teddy Hall Relays.

Circuits 40:00 [2]

Back to circuits, with nothing on a Monday evening for once to get in the way :) Muscles a bit sore and tight after yesterday, difficult to extract myself from the floor at some points, and quite a bit of stretching of left hamstring between exercises.

I think I left the useful parts of my body and more importantly my brain in Wales - really lethargic for most of the day and not picking up on simple/useful things. Like leaving my gloves in the office, then going to retrieve them sans access card...
