Orienteering 1:15:39 [2] ** 9.73 km (7:46 / km) +190m 7:05 / km
spiked:12/15c shoes: 2007 Falcons

BKO District at Hawley and Hornley, Brown course, more of a long training run than an O course. Wasn't particularly inspiring, M21S earlier in the year was better use of the terrain.

Took it easier than yesterday, physically felt pretty good and nice smooth running action. Navigation was very hesitant in places, probably because the small paths in the heathland were very easy to miss and the bracken was still high in places, making me overly cautious when attacking controls. Not having great attack points for a couple of them didn't help... One big miss, probably 60-90 seconds, on control 6. Couple of other bobbles where just overshot, by about 20m or so. Deliberately took a couple of non-optimal route choices, one of which was far worse than I expected it to be, costing at least 3 minutes. Suppose that's how you learn :)

Orienteering 27:58 [3] *** 3.6 km (7:46 / km) +120m 6:40 / km
spiked:16/17c shoes: 2007 Falcons

TVOC Local on Brill, Light Green course. Didn't push it, but the numerous sudden uphills and the really quite long grass off-path was tough going, probably tougher than it should have been. Ran without a compass, slight wobble/banana to #1 but otherwise everything spiked. There were a couple of routes which map suggested would be OK but in reality were covered in undergrowth that forced you round. Also tried a couple of route choices that I usually wouldn't have considered.

Mapping 2:00:00 [0]

Not feeling 100% today but needed to go out and get something useful done. All at a slow walk, so didn't cover as much as I wanted to. Shouldn't take much longer now though.

Badminton 25:00 [3]

Match vs St Catz B. Bit more energetic than Tuesday, some very good shots mixed in with some pretty ordinary ones, far too many frame hits. Won both matches - 15-8 and 15-6 - but didn't have a full team out so quite annoying - what should have been a 4-0 victory turned into a 2-2 draw...

Running 17:00 [3] 3.4 km (5:00 / km) +25m 4:49 / km
shoes: Brooks

Barts -> Club Run via South Parks so could stay off pavement for most of time.

Running 42:00 [2] 7.1 km (5:55 / km) +30m 5:48 / km
shoes: Brooks

Club Run: Rad Cam - Wolfson (split off from main group to get back) - mesopotamia - headington hill park - south park - barts.

Digestive tract didn't like me second half of run, ate too soon beforehand perhaps...

Orienteering 30:00 [1]

Checking out that training exercise idea for this afternoon worked properly, and that the control sites were OK. Had to move one of them slightly, but otherwise it worked :)

Orienteering 40:00 [0]

Hanging controls for the Parks Mini-League Event

Orienteering 15:00 [2]

Collecting in training kites from compass exercise. One of them had been swiped by someone...

Mapping 2:00:00 [0]

and then another area opens up and needs surveying! Bit of checking/updating bits already done too.

Badminton 25:00 [2]

Now on Tuesdays, college badminton at MCS. Felt rusty during the first game - not surprising seeing haven't played for over 4 months - but picked up a bit in the second, which was fortunate seeing I have a match Thursday lunchtime.

Warm up/down 5:00 [1]

Before/after circuits. Plus cycle there/back.

Circuits 52:00 [2]

OUOC Circuits - the exercises are definitely beginning to feel easier, with the 45secs seemingly getting shorter :)
