BUSA Relays - these weekends I usually have one good run and one bad one, and with the bad one already gone...

Arrived in the snow - 4 to 6 inches of the stuff in the open and at least a couple of inches in most of the forest. Was running second leg, didn't have the speed to keep up with people which meant dropped a couple of places. Lost a minute trying to climb back up from the second control, learnt that wasn't going to happen along that slope so eventually contoured out. Only one big mistake, 45 secs on #11 when just missed my control and relocated on the gaffle. Felt the shin again afterwards...

BUSA Individual, South Achray. Rubbish run, really poor up til control 12 - lost at least 15, probably 20 minutes in mistakes up to there - and then only a couple more minutes around the rest of the course. In contrast to Kat, liked the technical sprint second loop but the first part on the 1:10000 was bad, mind switched off in places, pretty tough underfoot and couldn't run as I wanted to, and certainly couldn't read the map on the run. Worst mistake at #7, along a slope, should have gone down about 2 lines but ended up going up 3 or 4... time loss about 5.5 mins on a 3.5 min leg. very frustrating :(

Plenty of stretching and shin-based exercises, it's feeling a bit strange at the moment so hopefully this will help...

Badminton vs St John's, won one match and got thrashed in the other (current uni squad member...). Was feeling shin again though, 3 matches in the past week and it obviously doesn't like being whacked against a solid wooden floor... Not good :( so I'm not running the Teddy Hall Relays tomorrow as it won't like 3.5 miles on the roads and towpaths...
