Note
So WOC is over. Mixed feelings - it was a tougher week than I was expecting and I don't think the run-up to it was the best either. Collectively we pulled it off and (almost) everything worked, even if my contribution was even more minimal than I'd planned.
Watching the team spring into life and pull everything together every day was impressive - I can't imagine how many hours went into the whole thing pre-event. Seeing the story unfold in front of you was far better than seeing things on a computer screen hundreds of miles away - even if there was the chance of a mad panic should something have broken.
Eventually though things caught up with me and I was KO'd for the second half of the week - unfortunately missing the relay and the chance to run around Darnway. Got out into the Affric forest waking up the controls and switching on radios early on Friday morning, but this just confirmed that running the last day was a really silly idea.
Thanks to Jon, Mark, Robin, Andy, Dave, Ian, Jon D, Kevin, Keith, Laura, Valerie, Lucy and everyone else on the IT team for all of their efforts and I wish I could have been of more use...
