SPW.

I can think of many excuses for this one...ultimately, I just didn’t have it today.

Surprised how little fight I had though. Sleep and hydration issues I reckon...a few too many libations last night.

So glad I went to the show though.

Paranoid Android, Fake Plastic Trees finish.

They snuck in Let Down early on - completely unexpected after scouring previous setlists.

That band is from another planet. Thom Yorke is captivating.

Other highlights were Talk Show Host into Exit Music (for a Film) and Reckoner.

Note

Radiohead tonight.

And...

It looks like I’ll be able to run with the Mount Pleasant Cemetery 5km tempo group tomorrow morning.

That is all.

Running 2:16:21 [3] 31.0 km (4:24 / km) +72m 4:21 / km

Parked at Marilyn Bell Park. Plan was to run to the tip of Tommy Thompson Park and back. Figured it was 30ish k. Shot for 4:25/km.

Started a little fast. (First 22 was at around 4:20 pace) Ran about 4:30 for the rest.

Didn’t bring any water as usual. Had to stop at the 25k mark at Cherry Beach to put some back. Finished the run at Coronation Park quite thirsty again.

Perfect temperature. Quite Madelinot but not much wind.

Great jaw today. Bottom lip almost fell off.

Was a little too loose-legged after 25km. Didn’t really have the form to up the cadence and nestle into my butt. Time to strengthen my legs and core.

Positive experience nonetheless.

Note

Kawhi.

A handful of Raps fans on AP, and not many basketball fans in general...but anyway.

I’m fine with a one year rental to go for it this year. Boston and Philly will only get better and better. If he doesn't sign, then next year you don’t have Demar's albatross contract.

I just hope he’s healthy and will play the year out - which isn’t a slam dunk. Lots of terrible teammate talk from Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili last year.

Masai Ujiri is magic. Amazing that he rid them of Derozan’s contract. Kinda like Bargnani’s. I remember thinking...who in the heck will take DeMar when his value is at its lowest. I guess San Antone has a short memory.

The Raps basically have a year to recruit him and can offer him $50 million more than anyone else. Even if he bolts, they have $30 million coming off the books next summer with him and Green alone. They can chase somebody else (KD, Kyrie, Butler).

Not giving up OG, Siakam and a pick of real consequence is incredible.

At the end of last year I was so shattered. Now I’m back at it, bleeding purple. (I would’ve either way)

But this team!! It’s like a bad breakup! I keeping coming back and investing my heart and soul.

Running 57:59 [3] 14.0 km (4:08 / km) +13m 4:07 / km

Quality miles - but a bit of a fail today - it was smoking hot.

Plan was 5km at 4:00/km, 10km at marathon pace (4:13/km), then another 5km at 4:05/km. Nailed the first 5, nailed the next 9 of 10.

Apparently the hunidex was only 30 - but it felt like Bangalore out there - even along the lake.

Finished at the 14km mark since there was a fountain and a washroom.

Grabbed a bit of a soak at the 9.5km mark in a splash pad...and some hydration.

Glad I cut it short. Will try for a pacey longer run in the morning tomorrow after I drop off Annie.

Neck - meh.

Running warm up/down 18:29 [1] 3.7 km (5:00 / km) +37m 4:45 / km

Note
(injured)

Disc flare up has me wrreccckkked this morning.

Feels like an eagle is digging its claws on my back - and chewing on my spine at the top of my neck.

Neck, upper back, shoulders are cloaked with pain.

Not so hopeful that I got this one today.

11 AM

Running 23:29 [3] 5.57 km (4:13 / km) +26m 4:07 / km

Shook the eagle off my back with the Accra-like conditions.

Curiously elastic indeed.
