Mapping (Mostly micro/ribbons) 4:00:00 [0]

Mapper's worst nightmare with on and off rain all day.

When it poured I rechecked some control sites I hadn't visited yet after the melt.

Complete re-route needed for leg 4-5. Canyon had a mini lake on its bottom.

Watched Rockwood radar forecast for precipitation. No relief in sight. Mapped rest of micro in a steady drizzle...swearing after every big drop from the trees.

Last possible day in the field with Annie's birthday party on Saturday.

Sections of fieldwork done by memory - suboptimal scenario - stressed out.

Mapping (Some ribbons) 4:00:00 [0]

Cleaning up the map and course after the turbo thaw. Completely different terrain...as expected. All the deadfall revealed.

Glad I left the Micro mapping as close as possible to the meet date. Slick and borderline unrunnable in there today.

Completed half the micro fieldwork - rushed home to pick up Annie from school.

Klepperton's Family Day Half - (unplanned, may become an annual) - no gels, no water...at marathon pace.

Other than a bit of a tight left hamstring, felt great.

Trying out my new NB Leadville's. Seemed to work 2 pairs of shoes ago. Felt good today.

It's Vietnamese New Year. Going to eat well this evening!
