At Starkey.

Better phrased as ensuring map/course accuracy.

Mapping 5:00:00 [0]

Mild weather revealed a tonne of directionally-challenged mountain bike trails at Starkey. Arrrrgggghhhh! Had to plot them out the old fashioned way, since I'm technologically-challenged.

Should've made this a contours-only event. That's what racers will be navigating with in this terrain anyway.

Halfway through completing a particularly head-spinning area, I realized that plotting them wasn't really adding any value...especially for 5-10 minutes of a course.

...still ended up grinding out the rest.

Will probably make a special skinnier 'mountain bike trail' symbol for this particular area.

Damn you, global warming!!!!...and damn you Guelph residents for not using a lovely track of land for a hike or a ski this winter!!!

Running 20:52 [3] 4.86 km (4:18 / km)

I planned to do some speedwork today.

I set off and after about 1.5km I diverted towards 'Old Reliable', (instead of the high school track).

This was my inner dialogue for 15 or so minutes:

"Why are you so soft, Innes? You're soft like Jonas Hoglund, or Robert Reichel in their Maple Leaf days...just semi-talented, getting up there in age, without any of the grit needed to even be serviceable.

What's the deal man?

Are you trying to get faster, or are ya just trying to keep your figure? That's what 'Old Reliable' does for ya bud...it keeps the tummy flat...that's about it.

Stop being such a Klepperton and nut up a bit!!"

Running hills 8:53 [5] 1.64 km (5:25 / km) +140m 3:48 / km

The inner smack talk led me to 4 hill repeats...should've done more.

235m long...35 metre hill.
