Training Log Archive: True North

Not a great run orienteering well today...

Got of trail too early after passing under the overhead lines heading to #1, did a loop and came back to trail and then saw marsh.

Heading to #4 I thought I'd head east through the marsh, but the vegetation looked too thick right from the start. Wasn't sure how wet I'd get with the 1.5" of rain we just got.

#5 was a disaster...thought it be one of the easiest ones being so close to the trail junction, but I wandered around in circles for quite awhile it seemed thinking it fell off of whatever it was attached to. Should have thought about the clue more .... eventually found it more south of where I concentrated on looking.

#6 Initially started looking on the north side of the trail just north of the control. Guess I was still irked about #5.

#7 pace counted from the stony ground on the trail and was just a little east of control

#8 overshot just a little to the east and got caught by the marsh

Easy orienteering the rest of the way...
