Finally got to doing this workout which I've been wanting to have a crack at for a while. It's 8 x 400m @ a little bit below 5k pace with a float which is supposed to be around 40seconds/km slower than the effort pace.

A bit hard to execute but this workout is so much harder than it seems. I started out doing 74s knowing it would be hard and then I just couldn't get any faster than that. Just holding on at the end. Ended up running 4800m in 16:17 which means by the end I'd actually run at a pretty fast average speed. I think these might have to become a weekly fixture.

Dude from my running club suggested we participate in this weekly mile run on the newie parkrun course. I acquiesced and we ran there. I only had my pegasus on which I think slowed me down a little but otherwise it felt alright. Definitely not a mile runner though...

I don't really like that area. We had a control on a boulder that was 30cm high. Also got confused by an area of the map. Eventually figured out the detail wasn't mapped. Sigh. Looking forward to next weekend where I actually have to concentrate during the course rather than just running on compass.
