Orienteering race (Khali'sRocks Day2) 1:06:00 [4] ***** 7.0 km (9:26 / km)
shoes: Inov 8 Bare-Grip

Definitely the most enjoyable map in Orange for me. Offers nav challenges every time. My fitness is so trash right now after about 2 months off so the course was definitely a slow one. Lost about 1:30 at control #1 AAARGH! But held it together nicely until about #6 where Andrew caught me (think I lasted a bit longer than I thought I would) but Andrew seemed to silently convince me that bearings and map reading are a bad idea and that I should blindly run into the rocks to #6. We both lost about 2 mins. Ah well.. Went fine until about #11 where I hit the wall HARD! Blisters came up a treat at around this point, making it painful to run. Spent a lot of time walking from this point on which was fucking frustrating! Macey Caught me close the the end but there's no way I was holding onto that bundle of energy. Dave Lotty overtook me up a hill on the way to #14... contemplated the meaning of life at this point. Trudged home as quickly as possible but still lost heaps of time at the end of the course. Nav was pretty much good apart from #1 and #6. Route choices could have been better. Loved the map, hate my Inov 8s.

Orienteering race (Xmas5DaysCSU) 17:20 [4] *** 3.5 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Salomon s-lab

Holy Lack of fitness batman! First race in the 5 days. Nav was fine apart from about reading the wrong side of a ramp and having to spend 10 seconds running back down it. Only issue was my terrible fitness. Just overheated and so dehydrated. Felt really dizzy afterwards. I really need to work on the running part of my orienteering. On the bright side it looks like my nav is finally starting to catch up!
