off road 40:33 [2] 3.0 mi (13:31 / mi)

Tired and lethargic, may have done a bit too much running recently so was going to have a rest day but decided that a short 'jog' just to loosen legs would be a good compromise so a trip to Oldbury Court. Just by the way of things I don't expect to put in many miles over Xmas which should reinvigourate!

The Frome is very full and flowing fast

Friday Dec 21, 2018 #

flat efforts 55:00 [4] 4.0 mi (13:45 / mi)

Oldbury Court 11 x 2 mins with 90 secs, wet underfoot and windy so not getting as far as normal but felt like a worthwhile session

Note

Went to pub for lunchtime drink, stayed longer than expected - all the afternoon and a fair bit of the evening. Drank more beer than I normally do in a month so in good spirits might just not be quite so festive tomorrow...….?

Thursday Dec 20, 2018 #

off road 1:08:51 [3] 6.0 mi (11:29 / mi)

Standard run around Purdown which is turning into its wet, muddy and greasy self. Struggling again on the hills and tiring after half way so had to run quite hard to keep the time under 70 mins

Wednesday Dec 19, 2018 #

off road 1:45:00 [3] 8.0 mi (13:07 / mi)

Tinsel Trot with chums at a very leisurely pace and plenty of stops so time is a bit of a guess. Very wet on top but glorious views. Great to see the variety of the seasons on the Mendips. A bit surprised (and disappointed?) that the old gits ran away so easily on the hills . Should not have been surprised as I am running 10% slower and struggling with breathing a bit on hills. Just not on top form today for some reason. Pace really does not matter at this time of year and more miles (and a huge custard slice) 'in the bag.'

Tuesday Dec 18, 2018 #

off road 1:03:19 [3] 6.0 mi (10:33 / mi)

Another horrid wet but warm day. Ran from Blaise car park using Mudclaws for first time since OMM, as other shoes soaking. More traction through left foot and so seemed to be running better particularly on downhills. Pushed quite hard from the start so was hoping to approach 60 mins but actually same time as before. Oh well you can only do what you can do.....perhaps this time is actually the new benchmark. Foot not too bad but did hurt post run

flat efforts 44:00 [4] 3.0 mi (14:40 / mi)

Downs. First time I have tried any efforts for some considerable while. Pyramid in half mins up to 3 mins (and only one of those) max rest 2 mins. Did not get very far, breathing not great but session done.
2 AM

off road 1:02:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:24 / mi)

Run up Twmbarlwm with Monday night young guns. Quite a warm night and misty on top. Very slow on down hill. Typical top notch post run hospitality from Mark and Alice much enjoyed by all

Sunday Dec 16, 2018 #

off road 1:27:19 [3] 8.0 mi (10:55 / mi)

CW N from Dog with standard turning point (44.58 mins). Gap in the rain but underfoot wet and in some places slippy. Push on more on the way back. Seem to struggle a bit on hills.
