Mellbreak, Starling Dodd, Great Borne and Hen Combe
After 20 mins it was cold wet rain and very claggy, and the climb up to Starling Dodd up the beck was slow and crap. So glad I continued on because the rest was really fun- shame I was soaked through though. Had to use the compass a lot today !! Need to come back this way on a good day.

Kong Stybarrow Dodd up Sticks Pass (shortened course again due to high winds).
Waaaah. This was a bit of a stab in the heart. Thought it was my kind of climb but I just couldn’t run. Quads and hips felt tight and sore, breathing all over the place and I just couldn’t move. Thought I’d had a good training block and had higher expectations, and just felt so disappointed with myself on the way up. Summited over 2 mins behind Sharon in 5th. Then of course down would never be my thing but I was just shaking, crying, almost hysterical down it, just adding to the disappointment I was feeling (5+ mins behind the girls lost).
After the race I really thought (and still am) why do I put in so much time and energy into something that is just not clicking. Just frustrating and I don’t know what I can do now :(.
Meeeeeeh.

Little plod round Rydal, then 5x ~430m downhill Stockghyll, a wee fast bit down the road and the jog home. Felt very unnatural, I cannot run down and I cannot run fast but Hazel recommend me trying some of these to get some forced leg turnover. Tbh didn’t enjoy the down at all :’).
Hips been a bit tight all day.

Fun until no 7, then all form I may of perhaps had went out the window. Ear okay just making me feel fatigued.

V easy to recover from last week. Also have ANOTHER ear infection in the usual ear. The one I had in November wasn’t too bad so hoping this will clear up easy enough with the antib’s again. A whole year since I started having problems in the ear!!! Got another referral for ENT because of this. Also explains why I feel even more groggy/tired zzzz.
