Kong Stybarrow Dodd up Sticks Pass (shortened course again due to high winds).
Waaaah. This was a bit of a stab in the heart. Thought it was my kind of climb but I just couldn’t run. Quads and hips felt tight and sore, breathing all over the place and I just couldn’t move. Thought I’d had a good training block and had higher expectations, and just felt so disappointed with myself on the way up. Summited over 2 mins behind Sharon in 5th. Then of course down would never be my thing but I was just shaking, crying, almost hysterical down it, just adding to the disappointment I was feeling (5+ mins behind the girls lost).
After the race I really thought (and still am) why do I put in so much time and energy into something that is just not clicking. Just frustrating and I don’t know what I can do now :(.
