Great time. Battle ropes on the first round, and lots of sparring with Bailey.

Elray and I went to Mack Porter park and did the shorter loop around the ballfields. We had been wondering why they were bringing porta-potties into the north parking lot, and I found out why today. Cross-country meet. Lots of school buses parked, and shelters up in the grassy areas. The meet was probably over the bridge into Jesse James, but lots of kids were walking and/or running around Mack Porter with bib numbers. We got off the trail a few times when larger groups went by. One group of boys was running, and it got Elray fired up to run, but we didn't do that. Otherwise, she ambled around and sniffed a lot.

After recycling, we went to the High School. We mostly just ambled along, although there is quite a bit of elevation change. Absolutely perfect weather. Too bad I have a zoom meeting this afternoon, and can't take advantage of it.

Without the dog. I went to Riverfront Trail and walked the entire thing for attitude adjustment. It was pretty warm, and it's been less than a week since I got out of the hospital, so that seemed prudent. The first km was the slowest--probably because I had to dodge quite a few bicycles. The last km was the fastest--just under 10/km. The attitude adjustment worked. The best part was finding out that my VO2max went back up to 33. This is where it was last June before the big drop.

We voted down at the Clay County Election Board to make sure we were counted. Then went to Mack Porter park and walked Elray. She hadn't run in a few days, and needed to "walk the doggie". Except for stop and sniff, we kept a good pace.

Bob and I took Elray to Mack Porter Park for the short loop. After three days laying around in a hospital bed, it felt great to be up and about. And really nice, but cool, weather. We took Elray off lead in one of the ball fields so she could race around, and then a couple with a Golden Retriever headed up the trail on the opposite site. Elray, of course, raced over to see the other dog, and I sprinted across the ball field to cover the open gate. Got my heart rate up after a slow walk.
