Mack Porter park. We kept a good pace, averaged in for stop-and-sniff, and we "walked the doggy". Nice weather--started off in the sixties.

After recycling, walked counter clockwise around the high school fields and back on the Riverfront Trail. One brief slog uphill on the grass to check out some boxes.

We had the family work this morning at Mack Porter, but cut it a bit short because Bob had to get back and finish up for his inspection. It was a good one, though, as I did several short slogs. We stopped for some "walk the doggy", and I averaged just over 11/km. We split at the junction for the bridge, so I could slop across half and see if the eagle was still there. He/she wasn't.

Feeling much better, but still sneezing and coughing from hay fever. Bob was busy, so I took Elray to Mack Porter park. It was 67 degrees with lots of fog at the start, and the spider webs were really beautiful with the droplets clinging to them. Beautiful to look at, but not much fun to run into.

We did the Mack Porter circuit, went over the bridge and walked to the Jesse James main trail junction, then returned. After a bit of sniffing at the start, Elray kept a good pace to the turn around. Then she got snarky because she wanted to keep going, but I have grocery pickup today, and I had to haul her by her harness about halfway back to the bridge.

We saw no people, and no cars. What we did see was a bald eagle in a tree about 15 feet west of the bridge, and about 15 feet above us. The closest I have been to an eagle since we went to Alaska. It had its left wing spread out, kind of like an anhinga does to dry off. Coming back over the bridge, it was still there. Pretty exciting. I've seen them at Smithville Lake and Watkins Mill, but never right in Kearney.

Note

I am feeling very badly. Even laid down to rest in the afternoon. Hurting, and hard to catch my breath. Of course, we are heavily into ragweed season.

Workout 1:04:01 [3]
ahr:94 max:114 shoes: INOV-8 TrailRoc 270

I was feeling somewhat sluggish today--probably from missing out from sleep Sunday night. Lots of balance and agility, plus the sled. about as much lower body today as upper body. A bit light-headed sometimes. And it is harder to breathe while wearing a mask.

Mack Porter park. Hardly counts as exercise. Elray refused to even go down the driveway at home. She's afraid of thunder and lightning, and then some yayhoo started shooting a gun in the subdivision. But she did load into the car, so we went to Mack Porter. There was light rain the whole time, and a brisk breeze pushing the rain in my face, so I made it a short one--once around the woodland circle.

Watkins Mill clockwise. Not feeling all that great, so I race walked it. Trying to maintain good form and posture. No time outs. I have been slowing down on the last mile or so, so I made it a point to keep my pace. The sixth km was under 10/km, and my average for the whole thing was 10/km.

Dog Walking 22:08 [1] 1.54 km (14:20 / km) +4m 14:09 / km

Got home, had some chocolate milk, and took Elray out. Bob is still working on his inspection. I let her do more sniffing than usual, and she really took advantage. I'm tired.
