9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:115 max:151 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

We had an outdoor workout at 9Round. My first time back since the middle of March, and it felt so good. We even got to punch on the small bag during round 5. This was on the back parking lot, with the usual 9 stations, so everyone was socially distanced. I sparred during one round with Shelby. It was really hard after being off so long, but, surprisingly, the hardest thing was the arm circles with weights at round 8. I had done heavy-duty weeding yesterday in the garden and had sore shoulders and pecs. Can't wait to do this again. Orienteering yesterday--9Round today. Life is good again.

The 9Round August challenge:
25 jumping jacks
25 squats
25 pushups
25 sit ups
25 rapid fire punches
This would be for 25 days in the month of August. Today I did Day One.

I met my daughter at Burcham Park, and we did the UnsynglO long course together. I had run off maps for both of us, and she put the app on her phone, also. Every time we got to a control, it was like a chorus. Very wet going from 2-3, we had to wade through a swamp trying, and failing, to find some higher ground. Then we opted to skip 10. We could see it, but would have had to walk close to a very sketchy looking rig. Mary Ann really enjoyed it, and I left her the map--she may try to do it again with Steve or her godchildren. Since we were close to downtown, we went there and ate Thai at a small deck on the sidewalk. Lots of fun.

ahr:104 max:121 slept:6.0 weight:122lbs shoes: INOV-8 TrailRoc 270

We hadn't walked in a few days because of the rain. Today we kept up a good pace, averaging less than 11 min/km, including potty stops and a table. It felt good to go out again.

Note

A very rainy day. We took advantage of it this morning, and did lots of errands, and stopped at the election board to vote absentee. But it kept on raining and storming, so I am being very lazy. A good note: I've actually been able to make myself meditate four days in a row, and I had really good sleep last night.

Note

My fenix 5X quit storing some data, e.g. steps, sleep, heart rate, so I had contacted Garmin last week. They had me do a master reset. Well, it is still not behaving, and they got back to me today. I spent most of this rainy afternoon trying to copy files, put things in zip files, and send it to them. Yes, I have very slow internet here in the country.

Dog Walking 17:27 [2] 1.56 km (11:11 / km) +4m 11:03 / km
ahr:97 max:106 shoes: INOV-8 TrailRoc 270

Mack Porter Park. We kept up a good pace, and the weather was great. The hot spot on my heel that I got on Sunday bothered me. When I got home, I found my Second Skin, but I hadn't used it in a couple of years, so the gel, even in the sealed pack, was useless. I did put the adhesive knit over the area. Need to heal up before Friday when Mary Ann and I go orienteering again.

Workout 47:00 [3]
ahr:100 max:119 shoes: GORUN5

Somehow, we finished early today, so I will add some time onto next week. A good workout and I worked out hard. I actually did 20 pounds, with one hand, standing on one leg, curls on the cable machine. At least for two sets--we dialed it back for the last set. And of course the sled again. We also went up a pound on the compound arm raises. I'm feeling it. I wore my running shoes because of the hot spot. They felt fine.

I went to the License Bureau early to get my REAL ID. A long line, even early. Fortunately, most of the people were there to license vehicles, instead of the driver test. I had brought lots of stuff--passport, birth certificate, voter card, etc., since I have been turned away in the past, and it wasn't even for a REAL ID. I had it all, including my divorce papers from 35 years ago. And my hair was looking good, and I had even darkened the gray in my eyebrows. They always tell you not to smile, but I channeled my inner Mona Lisa, and I think the photo will look ok.

Workout 15:50 [2]
ahr:88 max:106 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

Made up a knee workout, and put on my knee braces.
Lunges, front, rear, side, 10 each, each leg
30 sec. plank
20 squats, 20 situps.

Hiking 1:05:07 [4] 6.1 km (10:40 / km) +37m 10:22 / km
ahr:109 max:145 shoes: INOV-8 TrailRoc 270

Bob wanted a day off from dog walking, and I was feeling the best in quite a while (better sleelp?), so I went to Watkins Mill and hiked the trail counter clockwise. Only walking, since I slogged yesterday, but did just under 11 min/km. Very hot. Biggest problem was socks that slid down and gave me a hot spot on my right heel. The most interesting thing I saw was a tandem recumbent bicycle.
