Elray and I walked on the Riverfront Trail. She spent a lot of time fooling around going out, so it took almost 25 minutes to do the first mile. Much better coming back. I saw a small snake on the trail, which she fortunately did not see.

We saw Angie at the beginning of our walk. She was just coming back from a run. After not running for a year, she is making a comeback.

Weeded out in the blueberries. This was a major effort because I couldn't do my usual winter mulching with pine needles. I finished by pulling lots of poison ivy, then washed clothes, shoes, gloves, and myself after Tech-nu.

9Round 35:30 [4]
ahr:110 max:127 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

We had an extra round this morning. Four of us did a round robin with four of the rounds, with Bailey calling when to change, like with shuffles or bear crawls.

Slogging 24:29 [3] 2.74 km (8:57 / km) +13m 8:44 / km
ahr:129 max:145 shoes: GORUN5

Mack Porter park. Five times around the woods loop. I started very sluggishly and took just over five minutes on the first time around, but the rest of them were much better. Averaged 8:53/km overall. I didn't bring water and think I was somewhat dehydrated. Then I treated myself to a pedicure. My feet certainly deserved it.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:110 max:135 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

This week's CHOW was a Burpee followed by two alternating shin kicks on the bag. I did 22. Kind of dogging it.

Slogging 14:36 [4] 1.64 km (8:53 / km) +8m 8:41 / km
ahr:137 max:151 shoes: GORUN5

I did the woods loop at Mack Porter three times, trying to get a good pace and keep it up. My average pace was 8:52, which is ok, I just need to keep on going. Later this week I'll try again and try to double the length. I was mostly slogging with short walk breaks. Wore my old shoes.
4 PM

Yoga 1:00:00 [1]

I am very stretched and strengthened.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:118 max:132 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

Every round was a challenge today, and I spent most of my time in the yellow. I started at 9 with one-legged v-ups with a 10 lb medicine ball, then onto 1, which was jumping rope. I only dogged it a bit at 3, because that was punches with Ali shuffle, and the Ali shuffle always makes my heart rate go nuts. My best ones today were the squat jump with double punch, and next to it, the situp with double punch. Very sweaty.

Dog Walking 38:03 [2] 3.03 km (12:33 / km) +22m 12:07 / km
ahr:102 max:118 shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 270

Today is somewhat of a rest day, so we just sauntered from Mack Porter across the bridge to Jesse James and the east loop. A good day, coolish with a nice breeze, but no one out there except for a group playing ultimate Frisbee on one of the soccer fields. They invited me and Elray to join them, but I'm resting, and she goes beserk on Frisbees.

Slogging 2:40:27 [3] 16.09 km (9:58 / km) +121m 9:37 / km
ahr:91 max:147 shoes: GORUN5

Watkins Mill. I did the first 6 km in 53:40, but it was getting pretty warm by then and I slowed down a lot for the rest of it. We took Linda out for breakfast this morning, so it was a late start. Next week I will go earlier.

I ordered another pair of shoes in size 7.5, so I could actually wear a shoe that fit on my left foot. Sad, but shoes are cheaper than feet. Anyway, it felt a bit strange at first, because I'm not used to having the arch in the correct place on my left foot. No pain in feet or knees. Wow! That only thing that hurt was my back for the last lap. It does that on longer runs. I got home and had my chocolate milk recovery drink, yum, with an Aleve. It didn't help that we didn't get much sleep last night--Elray gets really upset at storms and we had heavy winds, rain and hail. I'm tired.

Two more longer runs to go. I think I can do this.
